First Annual Campus Prayer Walks

On two consecutive Saturdays in September, the Woodcrest Christian School System hosted its first annual Prayer Walk and Pancake Breakfast at each of its campuses. More than 80 current families, students, and staff attended the prayer walks.

As part of the school’s 75th Anniversary Jubilee last year, new prayer walks were installed at each campus. At the elementary campus on Arlington Ave., six prayer stations guide visitors throughout the campus and share the Armor of God scriptures found in Ephesians 6:10-18. On the upper campus on Van Buren Blvd. five prayer stations lead visitors through both the middle school and high school providing scriptures and prayers over Woodcrest Christian students and staff.

This year, two new crosses were installed as symbols of the school’s commitment to a Christ-centered education. The free-standing crosses stand more than 9-feet tall and are showcased with antique barnwood exteriors. Each cross was formally dedicated during the prayer walk events. Following the prayer walk, guests enjoyed hearty pancake breakfasts and fellowshipped together on each beautiful, Saturday morning.
