During the 2022/2023 school year, Woodcrest Christian celebrated its 75th anniversary! A year-long celebration of events took place to commemorate this milestone event.
Kicking off the year was the 2022 Back-to-School Bash and Color Run. More than 1,000 school families, students, and staff joined in this special event. 750 participants ran in the campus-wide color run! Dousing the school in color, the course took runners from the biggest color toss on the soccer field down through the campus for a big finale through a giant finish line.
In October 2022, the first annual Grandparents Day was held at the elementary campus in conjunction with the 75th anniversary celebrations. More than 250 grandparents joined in this special day at the WCDS campus.
In April 2023, the 75th Anniversary Jubilee Weekend hosted more than 5,000 attendees in a culminating event! To celebrate a long history of faithful staff members, every previous and current staff member of the Woodcrest Christian School System was invited to a special Friday evening event. This heartwarming evening was full of friendship and shared memories. The following day, a full day of celebrating was in store as current families, staff, and hundreds of alumni returned to campus for a Jubilee! Visitors could explore an historical walkthrough display of each decade of the school’s history set up in the Royals Pavilion. Outdoors, alumni Jake Jeanson and his band The Riverside entertained visitors, along with various student group performers. Food trucks, bounce houses and more provided food and fun for families. In addition to the celebratory events, a commemorative book was published highlighting stories and the unique, rich history of the Woodcrest Christian School System.
