What’s New at WCDS

Welcome to a new school year!  Some exciting changes have taken place at the elementary campus.  One being the implementation of our new name: Woodcrest Christian Day School.  Reflecting our unity as a K-12 school system, a bright sign with our name and regal lion mascot greets cars from Arlington Avenue, and a “W” has replaced the “R” on our former RCDS initials located in the auditorium.

In the back of our campus, another modular classroom has been added enabling our sixth graders to spread out in larger classrooms.  Interactive projectors, extra storage and counter space, make the rooms practical and functional.

Miss Victoria Wooldridge, our new piano teacher, has begun lessons with her twenty-six 2nd-6th grade students.  When she is not giving piano lessons at the elementary school, you will find her at the high school campus providing accompaniment for the drama and music department.

100 Mile Club is getting modernized with the help of a digital tracking system.  Students can now scan their running cards, and their progress is updated online.  Check our own WCSS app or website to see how many miles your student has run.  Fun theme days for the club are also being planned.  The most recent was the Bubble Run, where students sprinted through waves of bubbles.

These are just some of the new and exciting things students are experiencing at WCDS.  We are thankful for all the Lord is doing and has provided for us this year.
