8th Graders Embark on 8-Day Tour of Our National Heritage

Our WCMS National Heritage Tour takes our 8th grade students on a week-long tour of the historical high points in Colonial Williamsburg and the Washington DC area. This tour supports the WCMS curriculum in each of their classes but is especially relevant to their American History class. Students are able to touch and see history in a new way as they visit each historical location personally.

Follow their journey on their blog: National Heritage Tour Blog

Tour highlights include:

Jamestown Settlement, Yorktown Battlefield, Historic Williamsburg, Mr. Vernon, Gettysburg, White House, Fort McHenry, National Archives, Washington Monument, Arlington Cemetery, Air & Space Smithsonian, Jefferson Memorial, Natural History Smithsonian, US Capitol, MLK Memorial, Holocaust Museum, US Supreme Court, FDR Memorial, Ford’s Theater, Vietnam War Memorial, Air Force Memorial, Iwo Jima Memorial, Library of Congress, Korean War Memorial, World War 2 Memorial, National Cathedral, plus more!
