Hi! My name is Gabrielle Gehringer, and I teach 7th grade Bible and English. I loved to read when I was growing up (even sneaking books under the covers with a flashlight after my parents had told me to go to bed!), so the fact that I get to share my love of books with students makes my job awesome!
I spent three years teaching 6-8th grade English, O.T. Bible, and U.S. History at the International Christian School of Lima, Peru and then one year teaching 8-12th grade English at West Highland Christian Academy in Michigan.
I was born in San Diego and lived outside Phoenix when I was young, but spent most of my life in Milford, MI (about an hour outside Detroit). I currently live in Riverside. I have a 4 year old Golden Retriever, Lilly, who lives back in my hometown with my family. My family consists of my mom who is a nurse, and my dad who is an engineer at General Motors. I also have a younger brother, Luke who is going to school to become a lawyer. Our foster dog, Lilly is a trained professional and goes to work everyday with my mom to help the patients she takes care of feel better.
Outside of school, I love to run at the park near my house. I also love visiting the beach and trying out new recipes in the kitchen!
The most interesting place I’ve traveled is when I backpacked with my family through the jungle to Machu Picchu.
My favorite sports team is the Red Wings (Detroit’s hockey team).
This year I am looking forward to getting to know my students and learning more about Christ’s character with them and the ways we can be a light to those around us!
