Sweet and Simple Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • Submit an online written response to the question: “Not every gift has to be expensive or extravagant. In fact, sometimes it’s the sweet and simple things that make a real difference in our lives. Think back and tell us about something you received as a gift and why it meant so much to you.” (250 words or less)

The Sweet and Simple Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around May 29, 2020.

Award Amount: $1,500

The Davidson Fellows Scholarship

The Davidson Fellows Scholarship awards $50,000, $25,000 and $10,000 scholarships to extraordinary young people, 18 and under, who have completed a significant piece of work.

Application categories are Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Literature, Music, Philosophy and Outside the Box. Davidson Fellows are honored every year in Washington, D.C. with Congressional meetings and a special reception.

Superpower Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • Submit an online written response to the question: “Which superhero or villain would you want to change places with for a day and why?” (250 words or less)

The Superpower Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around June 30, 2020.

Award Amount: $2,500

All About Education Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • Submit an online written response to the question: “How will a $3,000 scholarship for education make a difference in your life?” (250 words or less)

The All About Education Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around July 30, 2020.

Award Amount: $3,000

Fifth Month Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • Submit an online written response to the question: “May is the fifth month of the year. Write a letter to the number five explaining why five is important. Be serious or be funny. Either way, here’s a high five to you for being original.” (250 words or less)

The Fifth Month Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around August 31, 2020.

Award Amount: $1,500

Ocean Awareness Contest 

This is an international Contest and is open to students ages 11-18 who are enrolled in middle school or high school (or the homeschool equivalent) worldwide. Proof of age, identity, or eligibility may be required.

Students ages 11-14 may enter the Junior Division. Students ages 15-18 may enter the Senior Division. Please enter the age division based on your age at the time of entry.

Participants under the age of 13 must have a parent or legal guardian complete a Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) Parent/Guardian Consent Form with their submission. Learn more >

Entries may be submitted by an individual or group of unlimited size. If you submit as a group, there must be one group leader who will serve as the contact person for the group. All of the names of the group members must be listed in the submission. Award money will be split evenly among the group members.

Any student may submit (i.e., have their name included in) only one entry per category. Therefore, a student may have a maximum of six different submissions, one in each category.

Do-Over Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • Submit an online written response to the question: “If you could get one ‘do-over’ in life, what would it be and why?” (250 words or less)

The Do-Over Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around September 30, 2020.

Award Amount: $1,500

Flavor of the Month Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • Submit an online written response to the question: “Summer and ice cream go hand-in-hand. In fact, July is National Ice Cream Month, and that’s the inspiration behind this award. We think people are very similar to ice cream; some are nutty, others a little exotic, while some are very comforting. If you were an ice cream flavor, which would you be and why?” (250 words or less)

The Flavor of the Month Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around October 31, 2020.

Award Amount: $1,500

Make Me Laugh Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia
  • Be currently enrolled (or enroll no later than the fall of 2026) in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education
  • Submit an online written response to the question: “OMG… finding and applying for scholarships is serious business, but it’s time to lighten things up a little. We don’t want to know why you deserve $1,500 or how great your grades are, we simply want to LOL. Describe an incident in your life, funny or embarrassing (fact or fiction), and make us laugh!” (250 words or less)

The Make Me Laugh Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around November 30, 2020.

Award Amount: $1,500

Shout It Out Scholarship

Applicants must:

  • Be thirteen (13) years of age or older at the time of application
  • Be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia

  • Submit an online written response to the question: “If you could say one thing to the entire world at once, what would it be and why?” (250 words or less)

The Shout It Out Scholarship winner will be notified by email or phone on or around December 30, 2019.

Award Amount: $1,500
