Our chapel programs are designed to challenge and enrich our students spiritually. We have national speakers, local pastors, Christian performance groups, and our very own teachers present God’s Word on a weekly basis. We have chapel once a week on Mondays. We also engage in two Spiritual Emphasis Weeks (Fall and Spring), where chapel will take place three times a week. In addition to the speakers, we have our student-led worship team share with us in song and sometimes even one of our students will share his or her testimony, a lesson, and/or a challenge from their walk with Christ as encouragement to the rest of the student body.
Our chapel theme this year (2016/2017) is stewardship. During this time, we hope that God will awaken our hearts through the power of the gospel to see our role as stewards for God’s glory and the good of all people. A steward is a person who has been entrusted with, and who manages another’s resources. Beginning in the garden, God has created all people to be His stewards (Genesis 1:28). They are both a manager with authority to oversee resources and a slave accountable to the Creator Lord who owns all the resources and gifts. In 2 Corinthians 8:9, the Apostle Paul states the effect the gospel should have on the way Christians understand wealth and ultimately all of their gifts and resources: “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.” Through our chapels together, by God’s grace, the student body encounters Christ’s sacrificial love, that He gave up everything so that we could inherit true riches of heaven. It transforms our attitude toward our material possessions and makes us the kind of people who are both generous and joyful. Understanding the riches we have already received in Christ not only transforms us from a slave to a steward of our wealth, power, gifts, knowledge, and physical bodies but also motivates us to invest them in the eternal kingdom of God.
You are more than welcome to attend any of our chapels. We ask that you contact the office to ensure that you come on a day when chapel is taking place. Check in at the office upon your arrival, and then come and be encouraged in the Lord. You can also watch our past chapels on our YouTube channel. VIEW ALL OF OUR CHAPEL VIDEOS
