At just 17 years old, Megan Sorokowski was declared the winner of the Congressional District high school art competition. At the reception in downtown Riverside on April 6, it was announced that her art piece, “City Roots” would hang in the connecting hallway between the congressional office buildings and the U.S. Capitol.
Megan thanks her art teacher, Rhonda Thomale, her friends, and classmates, for encouraging her to enter the contest in the first place. This had all started as an in-class project that soon turned into an award-winning piece of art.
Congratulations, Megan!
